Default Where is the After Auction Log

    Hi All,

I have started here recently and finally made some sales to one buyer (YAY!!!). I have been looking all over, but cannot find what everyone here refers to as the "After Auction Log". I can view my sold items through the tab on my dashboard, and also by clicking on the "Sold" link in the menu on the left column of the page, but I do not see anything anywhere labeled After Auction Log??

What started this is that I was looking for how to get a refund on final value fees for a couple of canceled auctions (4 items were sold elsewhere just prior to attempted purchase here on eBid, no action for a month or so, then two people looking for the same stuff on two different sites, around the same time, who can predict??) I was able to cancel the sales OK, but eBid invoice came through with them still listed. Also, they made a mistake and overcharged me by listing a higher number of items on a dutch auction than what were actually sold.

As a suggestion though, and I guess I should post this on a different thread, I think that they should include a SKU number, or perhaps the auction title on their invoices with the final value fees to help identify what they are charging against. I know that they give the date and time of purchase, but I had someone buy 30+ items all within the space of an hour or so, so it does look a little jumbled without further details...

Thanks for any help or thoughts and have a great weekend,
    Stan...

The AAL shows on the finished auction itself. Scroll down the listing to see all the details and look at the drop down menu to interact.

What Damian said. The AAL is at the top of the completed listing with a drop down menu for invoicing, shipping, commenting, etc.. Buyer e mail and address info. is at the bottom of the completed listing.

Oh and congrats on your sale and welcome to eBid.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

Do I understand you correctly that you double listed same items here and elsewhere and they sold elsewhere and then became unavailable here and also sold but you had to cancel the sales here? And are now asking for FVF refunds?

    Hi Damian,

Thanks for the help. When I read the word log, I thought it to be a log of all sold auctions, but realize my mistake.

    Thanks again,
    Stan...

    To both Jan and Marie,

Here is what I did and what occurred. I post my items on three sites currently, my own sales website, eBid, and one other auction site (not eBay). I try to close out any auctions on the other two sites that may have sold on any one site, but I did not get to do this soon enough this time around. It was just a big coincidence that two people hit two different sites around the same timeframe to try to buy the same 4 items before I could close out the sales on the other two sites. I do have this noted in my descriptions regarding items available elsewhere and in case of a conflict, it will go to the earliest purchaser...Stan...

Why should you get a refund of your FVF for an item you sold but then could not provide? As a buyer I would be extremely irritated. As a seller, I would be extremely embarassed. eBid upheld their end of the deal by providing you a venue and a buyer. It is not their fault you could not live up to the deal.

It's really off-putting to buyers, and reflects badly on you, and consequently on the site and other sellers when you list something and then can't follow through.

Nice that you sold, but if you have items in more than one place, you should either stay on top of the situation more quickly and remove the item from listing, or have more than one item.

You have nice items, and some unusual things, but you also have a lot of duplicates, and appear to be circumventing the system of no duplicates by merely giving a different title to the listing. Why not just list as a multiple, and give buyers a chance to buy more than one at one time without having to scroll through all the items. Some of us are older and may not have enough time left to scroll through everything.......

And, regarding your disclaimer about having things listed in several places, that just makes me not want to deal with the uncertainty. Sorry. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
    Ta-Ta for now!

Hello (sorry I can't address you personally, but I don't know your real name),

Thank you for your thoughts on listing on multiple sites. I am not looking to get into a spitting contest with anyone here, or anywhere else for that matter. I guess we view this matter differently as we are all different people...

Thank you also for your compliments on my items. It is appreciated.

I do want to clear up one, and I hate to use the term accusation, but I am certainly not circumventing the "no duplicates rule". My items (mostly postcards) are in various states of condition, use, etc. Collectors look for many different things when they look at a postcard. Usually the first thing is condition. Some will only buy unposted cards with no message on the back, while others look for postmarked cards with messages, or some other various combination of these factors. Even though there may be several cards that picture the same basic scene, they may have been printed by different publishers using different borders (or no border at all), or from a different era that produced a different type of card completely, although they may be of a similar scene. If I have several cards that are exactly the same, then I do put them in a dutch auction, of which I do have several up currently. But if there are differences in the cards, then I have to list them in different auctions so as to give the buyer a chance to get exactly what he collects, not something that is "close enough for government work"...

And as far as my disclaimer, I am just trying to be upfront and honest with any potential customer. I try to be honest with everyone. This is how I have run my business over the years and will continue to do so in the future. The same disclaimer is on the two auction sites, along with my own personal sales site and I have never had a complaint in the past. I had to have something like this, especially when I was still doing shows. What if I sold a card at a show and then I came home and saw that someone else bought it online. Even though I try my best, it will still happen (hopefully not that often...), and most people are understanding. If it does happen though, I try to make it up to the person affected, just as I did in this case...just basic customer service in my eyes though...

Thanks again for your thoughts and have a great weekend,
    Stan...
