I reckon most tarot readings and the like are not worth the paper they are written on.

I know from speaking to people who work in newspapers that this happens with horoscopes. The job to write up the daily horoscopes is regularly given to the new kid on the block who makes them up.

    And...no...I didn't get paid.

I thought it a kindness not to tell them that I wasn't always able to get the readings organised so ended up making up the tarot report
    But you done them

A friend of mine did them and she seemed to be really good at it and made a lot of money untill one day she said to me anyone can do it and she could teach me to do it and that there were only a few reasons why people went to a reader in the first place, I was put off after that.

I'm not sure about going to tarat readings, I know its about picking cards and reading from the cards, I need specifics, something that i could actually go back and check out, when I took my sister to this psychic, one exampe of something that she come out with was, someone was talking about tomatoe soup at maria bedside, this was a specific as it mentioned tomatoe not just soup,

This turned out to be infact true when we ? people after the reading

The value of anything is set by the person who receives it.

Judging from the positive feedback I received the value is in the help they received from me.

Value isn't all about money. I regularly help people in lots of ways for free that doesn't mean the help is worthless.

I know from my own experience that your friend was right. I have had no training in tarot reading. I wrote my reports using the same techniques that can be seen on those documentaries that expose psychics who aren't actually doing any more than saying what people want to hear.

My own opinion is that generally tarot readings, psychics, horoscopes, clairvoyants etc do no harm, even though in my opinion it is all fake. But the person seeing them wants to believe, and if something is said that comforts them then no harm is done and they are probably more content.

    My question was,

if you dont believe anything like tarot reading, then what made you do tarrot reading for others

Sure we all help people in one way or another, but if I dont believe in something I would not use it personally to help others, I took my sis to a pysichic and it helped her, i never actually pretended to be a pyschic myself,

I agree with that totally (as seen in my sisters case ) the reading even opened my eyes a bit was'nt things said that could not be proved and we had a copy and tape of everything that had been said so we could go back to it (my memory is terrible and no way would i remember anything as soon as i walked out), as said my mind can be changed on a lot of things with the right proof, except religion lol

The only thing I do believe with out proof is the exsistance of "call it aliens" if you like, but as the universe is so vast I would deffo say we are not alone

I don't have a problem with doing tarot readings while not believing.

I sell all kinds of items on eBid that I don't use myself.

I have never pretended to be a psychic...
