Flew to Australia this summer to see family and it felt like it took 2 weeks!!

I had a padded envelope take about 5 weeks to get to the USA a while ago and that was airmail!! Still not sure where the delay was or why but it was just after christmas so maybe it fell to the bottom of santa's sack!

Never thought about surface mail due to the time it takes, but I guess for heavy items where airmail costs would be prohibitive, but the buyers should realise this.

    Cheers Alan

Unless I'm mistaken, US sellers don't have the option of sending surface mail.

Well Ive just been told at the post office UK sellers can only use surface mail for sending printed papers (the guy didnt elongate) since I have a parcel of crockery it doesnt apply. Almost £50 he quoted me or another option £10 dearer.Yet when I looked up on Royal Mail website this is not what I read! I looked under a category for parcels or packets of a certain weight and measurement, was quoted under £20.
Maybe it was in the small print.
Oh dear (head in hands) groan.....
    back to the drawing board!
