Viral marketing ... (buzzfeed and similar)

I am experimenting with viral marketing for the theatre group, and that of course has got me considering (come the Easter Hols) doing the same for my stores on ebid. Basically, I am no expert in viral marketing (maybe someone on here is and could share some advice or thoughts), but create some video/ graphic/somesuch, that captures peoples interest/ amusement, making sure that your website or business is named or advertised (so for example I created a cheeky-but-clean desktop wallpaper graphic for the theatre group, with (c) The South Devon Players , as my first attempt)
There are sites where you can host it - I am using buzzfeed . com, as well as sharing on the theatre groups facebook page (in that case) where *hopefully* people will see it, like it and share it.

Anyone else tried this?
