Default From a buyers point of view

I often see in the forums sellers asking this or that or should or should'nt I and also sellers saying they are not getting sales

I would as a buyer like to have a rant and hopefully instead on jumping on me understand where I am coming from

A little while ago i put a thread up asking how long should a buyer wait for a question to be answered,

As a buyer if i see something I want, I want it now. I do not want to have to go through the rigmarole of having to send a question then wait for an answer to bid on something, I sent a ? as what I was after was a run untill sold item, luckily the seller answered me the next day, so he got my custom.

I see something else that I have an interest in a couple of days ago, once again it was run untill sold, (auction start time apil 2011) so sent an message on the 14th of this month to the seller (business seller) and as yet have had no reply. I have sent a nudge today and another ? on the identical item they have for sale in another auction

Now this is really putting me off having to always do this and if I dont get an answer over the weekend I will more then likely go elsewhere to get it.

The thing is, If these items were not run untill sold and the seller had to physically come in and post the auction again, I would of just bidded on the auction without hesitation knowing that the seller is obviously still around.

I doubt I will ever bother now if I see run untill sold on it

Since I have been in the Forums I have seen many different opinions on how long a seller should be allowed to answer a question. Most opinions have come from sellers as do the majority of opinions here.
It's nice and would probably be most helpful to get views from a buyers standpoint (as you did here) after all sellers are or should be trying to accomodate buyers.

Come on eBid members or guests how about your opinions here please?

Hi Shezz , I remember the other thread , and you are quite right , in my opinion , if a seller cannot reply in a couple of days ....FORGET IT .....and I have said it several times on these forums....please do not make excuses for them ...saying they might be on holiday , they can use the holiday notice....and yes , there could be something wrong ?..but I still say the same...no reply in a reasonable time....walk away....but we know this argument will crop up many times...have a nice week-end....papa.

I have bought three items over the last couple of weeks that took the sellers 3-4 days to send me an invoice. On the other side i pay for things immediately and on here too unless they are run until sold then i wait for an invoice.

Couldn't agree more. I always try to respond to buyer questions within 24 hours unless I'm on holiday (in which case a notice is in place) or I'm having 'puter troubles, (not common but they do crop up from time to time), in which case I respond as soon as I'm back up and running. Have yet to have a problem with this and my sales are pretty good these days, so no complaints here.

Oh and as a buyer I appreciate a response within a timely fashion as well.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

I will not bid or buy anything unless I know that the seller is active, I too normally pay as soon as I bid on an item, I will never understand why it takes some buyers time to pay, if you dont have the money to pay there and then, why bid, ok you may have money due but what if it dont come lol

    I'm with papa on this.

I always check out holiday notices, I understand holidays as I have them myself, but how long does it take to respond to an email, few mins if that, I am sure if people are having computor problems they can use another from somewhere else, or the library, if you have a business online selling then you should look after it

From a buyers view point ---

This was a fixed price item with 20 available.

Here is the offer and reply which came a little over a month later. To make it worse the seller had been logged in during the month.

This seller no longer has any items listed.

Needless to say I did buy elsewhere.

It’s all about traffic simple as that…and because of that many sellers list item check on it in the first couple days or weeks and that’s all…if items is not sold or not have bid or not any interest seller after that will not stay in here often and check own items daily or at least one time in one week…I think a 100% sellers comes from eBay mind of selling in here and that is hard to change which I not blame anybody for that because after many years of selling on eBay…In my opinion many sellers comes in here for auction business only and is not interested most of time for chit-chat and if is items sold…sold…if not…no big deal…I say that and I mean for all sellers in here on whole auction site not only particular same sellers who take most of time own time in chit-chat…many never write in the forum in here and is interested only on auction business and that sellers I believe visit time to time this forum just to see and read what is going on and after read many stuff many just don’t come back anymore that often…and that similar way of doing business in here is going for a years and years…Personally in my opinion eBid will look for potential visitors or potential members or potential buyers exactly will look how all already members in here make that to look…for about everything….listing items, chit-chat, selling, answering questions and all other auction business…and in the end all comes up again on traffic and we don’t have that much or advertising so all this stuff only up to exiting members how will make that happened in here…someone is going for auction business most of time, someone is going most of time only for writing threads daily, someone neither of that and is up to only particular member which way will go but bottom line again: ‘’How we all do together in this site and how we all ‘’paint’’ picture in here in that exactly same way this site will look for outsiders…eBid owners give to us selling platform and after that which way will go most of time is up to only us…AMEN……

Well of course if sellers don't answer questions etc, then they don't deserve to make the sale.

I think there are too many casual sellers on ebid, which may put buyers off.
But this is what you get when you have an auction site.
You (ebid) cannot force everyone to be a good perfect seller.

And as Dzambo says, if the seller is not making lots of sales on ebd, then they may not visit ebid as much as they should.
Its the old chicken and egg situation.

Of course nobody trying to force anybody to do what others do (suggestions or own opinion don’t mean ‘’must do’’)…and for that reason I say already: ‘’All is up to only us which way will go and for what we will be interested most of time like member in here’’…So…eBid will look exactly most of time how we all make that to look and how will look at least closely all depends what most of members will do in here most of time…simple as that…

P.S. I go for sleep now...after I wake up ''I know'' exactly what I will find in my e-mail box...and THAT is not fantasy stuff that is real stuff...
