I'd like to thank all my buyers over the years for purchasing books from The Book Rack. It was great but the time has come to say goodbye to an old friend...thank you all and please visit my other four stores for high-quality goods and merchandise!

Actually it's a relief for me...toooooo many tubs of books to handle!I'm going to have a huge book sale in the late spring here and sell the remainder all off except for my Christian/Religious books and cooking-related (cookbooks) which will still (and are) in the Heartfelt Faith and Kitchen Insider store. Trust me...I'm still selling!!!

Not for this diehard they haven't, it's only lack of $ that keeps me from buying more books. Technology is great, but some of us who remember the original floppy want our reading material in a format we can depend on, now or fifty years from now.
Will be watching for your Spring sale, hope I have some $ by then, a few good sales would do the trick.
Best wishes for many sales to all,
I love books - I find that postage has killed sales rather than kindles
.. just handed in another pile to the Charity Shop because of their weight.
Guess another batch will be going in April when the price of postage goes up again here.

Wish I lived closer to you, I'd be raiding the charity shop as fast as they came in.
You're right about postage, can't understand the constant postage hikes here either, very confusing, but I'd be willing to bet what little money I don't have that greed is behind a lot of it.
Best wishes for many sales to all,
Some of the Charity Shops here have gone 'all posh and upmarket'
- and laid down strict selling rules for the staff.
The guys who used to work for them have got permission to start Carnoustie's own charity shop for the community - so the 'chair' is back to sit and have a gossip and a cup of tea - and they can charge what they like... so when they get unindated say with books they have a '4 for a £1 special' - and yes, I buy more and then return them when read. It is a great idea -and a great wee shop.

My husband and I both read a lot. Our basement is a little library with the walls lined with book shelves. A lot of our books have come from our local thrift shop / discards from the library / yard sales. I agree that postage has certainly affected on-line book sales. We haven't tried e-books yet, but I can see the appeal. But, on the other hand, I like paper books too.
