Default Question for anyone on a listing title

    Hi Everyone,

I am looking for a bit of help here,or rather maybe some clarification.I recently sold a lot of sportscards somewhere and part of the listing stated 20+ jersey and insert cards,

My question being how would you interpret this, would you see it as 20+ jerseys along with inserts or 20 special cards in total

The buyer who purchased this even asked and I answered exactly what was in the lot as my description listed every card jersey insert and what not down to every last card so all anyone had to do was read the description or ask a question if they were unsure

I have sold hundreds of these lots and never a problem as buyers will ask or read the full description,or at least look for the cards that stand out,now this buyer has filed a complaint stating item not as described and paypal is holding the money upon review which I know the buyer will almost certainly win

I have provided them with the question he asked, how many jersey cards were in the lot, along with my answer to him, they have the item and full description and buyer knew full well what he was getting, never let me know when he got the items he was unhappy went right to escalate a claim which sent off a few bells but now I am pretty sure I am out the $$ plus a large lot of cards

Was my listing to vague,if so would my description and reply to the buyer not be validation enough for them to know what they were buying

Any answers, good bad or indifferent.as always are welcome

    Thanks

I would read it to mean more than twenty jerseys, and inserts that go with them (Not knowing what they are, I would assume more than 20 inserts to go with the jerseys.)....or at least more than 20 jerseys and SOME inserts...............

If it said mix of 20 jerseys and inserts, I'd expect a total of 20 items.
And you are right....people don't always read the description.

I use 50+ or 100+ etc in my slide listings to indicate that I am sending more than 50 or 100....etc.
    Ta-Ta for now!

Agree with HM, though what I know about sportscards would fit on the head of a pin.

Sorry you had problems with your buyer, it sounds to me like you did the best you could as a seller. If it were me, I'd report this to eBid, as well as BBing the buyer so you don't have any further dealings with him.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

    the listing went like this
    Huge hockey card lot
over 50 rookie cards 75 vintage cards,400 base cards 20+jerseys and inserts

The sublisting read 9 different jersey cards 15 different inserts, goalies, rookies, vintage and much more

I can see how some may read into it differently that is why I disclosed every card in the listing, well except the 400 base cards, just a general description of years and players I also answered the winning buyer before the auction ended and contacted every bidder to ensure they knew what they were bidding on in case they bothered not to read the description or the sublisting directly under the listing

Every bidder, even the winning one answered me back and said either ok thanks they knew,or they were interested anyhow as the value of what was in the lot was well over 1k

I guess what really irks me is the buyer went right for the dispute, had he contacted me,even though I am full aware he knew what he was buying I would have tried to make things right by him and sent along an extra few cards,I have the feeling that since he knew from my answer what he was getting and my description may have been vague he purchased it full knowing he was going to dispute it,I know this may sound awful but I really feel it to be true, most buyers when unhappy will give the seller the chance to make it right contact them etc this guy went right for paypal

I don't understand why the thread has been opened on here if it has nothing to do with eBid.

If people see the opening post in Google they will automatically think it was a eBid buyer and most will not bother to come here to read all the thread. It makes it look bad for eBid.
My posts only state my own opinions, unless I've stolen them from someone else

He will remane nameless but is on here as well, hoping to draw him out and get some answers by starting this thread at least an explanation, although I think only a buyer and it has been a time since I have seen or heard from him on here but then again I have been gone for a time myself

So no the deal took place outside of ebid but yes it does concern 2 members who are ebid members

And I am sorry but I thought this was a place to talk about anything, forgive as I have been away for a while but I thought any topics were open to discussion, especially if it were to concern how I go about my listings of such items here on ebid as I do not want them misunderstood or anything so I am looking for some input maybe draw out the buyer and at least touch base albeit via email as so far I have been avoided

Again I apologize if I overstepped the guidelines,I honestly was just trying to gather information for my personal use now and for future listings here

    Thanks

No need to apologize, given the situation your concern is perfectly understandable. Hope all is sorted soon.

Best wishes for many sales to all,
