I Ignore the stars......they don't mean much to most people, probably.
I think the train idea is probably a good idea.........but about 25 years too late. By the time this is done, it will cost more than they think, and other modes of transportation may well be effect.

I think this is the Rail link that Gill and people in her village are up in arms about - and no wonder. And as Her Maj already said, by the time they get round to actually completing it, the whole project will no doubt exceed original quotes by mega amounts.

I live in the Chilterns and I have a railway mainline and station less than 100 metres from my house. There have been many suggestions over the past 30 years to "develop" my line and every time it has been defeated. The promise of this new HS2 line will solve no problems! The cost will of course be paid by the rail users before, during and after construction. As I understand it there is no option to carry freight, thus reducing road congestion. Where are all the new users coming from? No doubt a proportion will be drawn from the present links, including the one outside my house. The reduction on my route may well lead to reduced services, already I only have one train per hour stopping. Maybe if it is to be built they should make it go past Chequers so that they can have a station outside their front door.
