Thread: Location of item for sale

  1. #1

Question Location of item for sale

Gazza/Mark...Would it be possible to show an items location when looking at the thumbnail gallery. I'm finding this hard to put in words so as to make myself understood here but here goes nothing. Basically, when I search for something I type in whatever the item is and end up with a list of items the search has provided. I then have to look at each one to find out where the item is located. I often buy items based on their locations so this feature would be a great time saver for me at least. Maybe the location could be located under accepted payment?

Apologies if this has been brought up before by others.

If its any used, on the listings, on the left hand side column, it states where the seller is based - town/ country (so one would assume this also where the item is located)
Though on the rare occaisons on either site, that I am listing an item for pickup only, I also add the location to the listing description. Then its in two places.

You can also do an advanced search for items near your postcode.

I know that it is contained within each listing, what I mean is when you look at the gallery view for any given item search. It would be nice to see straight off where the item is located without having to check each listing individually. I hate to mention it but the bay does this automatically. Please don't give out to me people for mentioning the darkside lol.

I understand what you are saying...I think that would be a good idea, too! Good luck!

I understand what you are suggesting and agree but what I'm actually getting at is just another basic improvement to the site listings as displayed in normal searches. If a buyer has to click and click again you have already lost their attention. By adding a visible location to the gallery view a buyer will instantly know where the item is coming from. On the other place the first few listings are from your country first and then other countries but you are never in any doubt as to where the item is based without having to open each listing.

To those of us lucky enough to have fibre optic broadband, opening pages is no problem but anyone on a Dongle or slow DSL connection is just going to leave in frustration.

Excellent suggestion, hope support looks into it.

Dongle makes me laugh, not sure what it is, but it sure sounds funny.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

Thanks Sue....it's a usb flash drive that allows you to connect to the internet for a monthly subscription. Some people still have them as WIFI isn't universally available here yet. I found it funny too the first time I heard about it.
