    oh, I didn't know Phantom served Royal Air Force too. You mean F-4, right? They were one of the best at that time. I particularly liked F-14 (retired now in the US). Not that I served in US army or such but I liked its shape and moving wings.

    While in the Marine Corps back in 68 I too was an aircraft mechanic on the F-4 Phantom! The given nickname was ‘Spring Loaded Tweeds’ because we handled Martin Baker Ejection Seats, Environmental Systems and Safety Systems. Loud …. what ya say ….work horse of an aircraft!

    Worked for a clothing company in the warehouse for about 2 yrs.
    Embroidery machine operator for about 3 yrs.
    And the best job of all, picking fruit and veg in OZ
