Okay maybe I just dislike this guys replies, because well I did. I should have ask jerky boy some questions before buying, but I got excited because I actually found something I wanted on eBid for a good price.

Here the exact messages back and forth. Is this guy being jerky or is it just me? I purchase on the 29th and waited 24 hours to start asking questions. He did answer in a good amount of time.

ME: Can you please let me know when it has been shipped out. Welcome to eBid and thank you, Steve(AKA:theweaverboy)

OTHER GUY: No worries. Thanks for the purchase.

ME: Well it is good I don't have to worry, but I still would like to know when the item was shipped or is going to be shipped out. Thanks, Steve(AKA:theweaverboy)

OTHER GUY: Ok. I will send you the tracking number on Monday.

There isn't an option for me to vote because I always send WITHIN 1-2 days but recently I've been posting out many items same day. I dont always post on Saturdays but this is made clear on my adverts. I'm a private and a business seller.

I find this funny though. eBid and eBay sellers often give better service these days than the big shops and supermarkets do. I'm not just talking about dispatch time either. Communication is better too. I know why it's happening on eBay. Those darn DSRs are whipping everyone into shape. It's nice to know on eBid sellers do it because they want to please the buyer and not due to brute force.

LOL I'm not asking how long it takes you to ship but what is "TO LONG" for a seller to wait to ship something.

Too long is longer than whatever the seller has informed the buyer it is likely to be, plus leaving time for longer shipping at Christmas, overseas, weather at sending and delivery locations, etc. So, no one time frame fits all.
    Ta-Ta for now!

i can only ship if wife or daughter posts items so 3-4 days but usually they do it next day unless 1 item and long queue in p.o.

Individual sellers should be free to post items within whatever timescale they choose, whether that is same day or after ten days, but only if they have been clear and upfront about that being their policy. If the information is clearly displayed on the auction the buyer has only themselves to blame if they don't agree with it. However, if the seller does not display such information, either on the auction or on their All About page, then I would hope that they would post absolutely ASAP.

Won't I don't agree with is people trying to lay down a "one size fits all" rule about when, what or how sellers should post.

Post same day if payment received before 4pm,

As a buyer would expect seller to state when items are posted .

Although I agree 100% the fact remains buyers do not always read seller's descriptions and do expect their items to ship quickly. I have purchased items and after 4 days wondered WTF where are my items (or at least, why haven't I received shipping confirmation) and received an email from the seller stating "if you look at my description you will see I "SHIP 5 TO 7 DAYS AFTER CLEARED PAYMENT." Honestly I didn't check that part of the description, it was DVD's and just "assumed" they would ship quickly.
We have to understand buyers do not read the entire contents of our listings nor do they visit our "All about me page" 100% of the time. It is up to the seller to communicate with the buyer and let them know what is happening with their item as quickly as possible.
To be able to prove we have a 3 to 4, 5 to 6 or 2 to 3 year shipping policy listed in our descriptions does not take a bad taste out of the mouth of buyers. They want their items and they want to know what is happening with them, after all they have already paid and have nothing to show for it.
My scenario above wasn't left wide open for sarcastic comments, yes, I know we should investigate clearly what to expect but it doesn't always happen.

I'll ship within 3 hours of receiving payment, as long as the Post Office is open.
If P.O. isn't open I'll be at their gate in the morning waiting for it to open.
