You might not be, but what about the next person that receives it? They may be more vulnerable and less savvy about such things than you regarding such things. They could really be affected by it - they may even pay. If they even respond in any way then a mass of others descend on them trying to extort money from them - as their details get passed around as a good target.
I would still pass it to the police and let them decide if pursuing it is a 'waste of their time'. They have special units set up to deal with such things.
At least then my conscience would be clear the next time I saw on the news that some elderly pensioner had been taken for every penny.
I'd be straight to the cops with that one. In fact, why not contact your local radio/TV station Pink?There may be some folk who are not quite so savvy who've also received this and may be absolutley terrified. Folk who do these scams are nothing but dirty low life scumbags.
