Gazza/Mark...Statistics page for eBid?

Hi Gazza/Mark, being new to the site I hope that this isn't a re-hashed thread so please bear with me.

I would like to suggest a statistics page or section showing up to date information on membership similar to the "Number of Auctions" and "Categories" shown on the index page of the site. As a new member interested in promoting the site, it would be nice to see actual figures for current members, new members joining each day/month and maybe a breakdown of each country or even an overall representation etc. It would be nice to know if the site is gaining new members all the time. Please forgive me if I have missed this information along the way.

Of course I completely understand if you would not like this information made public but maybe you might suggest an alternative?

Alsoshop publishes very detailed information.
The betsy put out monthly stats which are very impressive, but hard to follow
Many other sites tend to want to hide their stats.
I suppose they worry that if the figures are going backwards, then less people will join.
People like to be associated with success.

But its not just new members we need, we need to see all members selling their items regularly so that they will stay and list or.

Yes I agree with you on all counts. Maybe eBid could leave the figures static for negative months, there are negative months for any business. I'm just throwing the idea out there, no big deal really. eBid could always restrict the information to members only.

As far as members selling regularly, Kimbo's H2S badge is a great idea for getting people to stay current and focused. More sellers should be using that. I have been watching the forums a lot since I joined and there are a few people that try eBid for a few weeks and then leave because they expected more sales. A little patience would go a long way for those that choose to go without giving the site a chance.
