Thread: Cluedo owners - I need a favour ...

  1. #1

    Question Cluedo owners - I need a favour ...

    An unusual request, I know, but I am seeking some information about the game of Cluedo (or Clue, as it is known in the U.S.) and I need someone that actually has a set to check something for me.

    The game board is set out with a number of rooms and paths between the rooms. The paths are divided into squares.

    So here's what I need to know:-

    How many character pieces can fit onto each square at any one time? Can two, three or four players have their character piece on the same square?

    If the answer is one, then please also say whether that is because it is not physically possible to get more than one character on a square, or whether that the rules state that only one character at a time is permitted.

    Please only answer if you know for sure and have checked. Guesses or vague memories are not what I need.

    Thanks in advance and there's a virtual pint, glass of wine (or other tipple) in it for you if you supply the info I need.

    Extract from the rules;
    "Playing pieces must not move diagonally. No two pieces can occupy the same square, and you can't move you piece through the square on which another piece stands. A room, however, may be occupied by any number of pieces and weapons."
    Which can be found here.

    Thank you, bluebedouin. Feel free to ask the barman for that drink.

    I still wonder, though, whether the squares are large enough for more than one character at a time. Anyone know?
