I agree with Gill. I'd research the items first, especially the boys desses since they are silk with embroidery and lace. The "boring knitted cotton" could also fetch a decent sum if sold in the right place.

Am I the only person replying who has strong packrat genes? Maybe you've already offered some of these to your children/grandchildren? They are indeed heirlooms. Maybe you have so many, you can't rehome all of them with descendants.
My opinion is that they're not yet antiques but I'm sure you can't buy items like that new nowadays. Historians, fashion historians, reenactors, movie and television costumers, etc., might pay a good price for them. Will be very interesting to see them listed here and don't let them go too cheap!
Ada, although my children are married, there are no grandchildren and its unlikely there will be . The clothes are not getting any better by being stuffed in a bag and stored in the loft. so I much rather someone buys them who after paying out good money will appreciate them
I've sold a lot of this sort of thing, meebo. Mostly you need to put them separately. "Long clothes" go better than short because people think they are Christening robes and use them as such, so I suppose they are! Search completed items of this sort in the other place for an idea of what you will get.
P.S. I found that people loved photographs of the items being worn - I emailed a jpg when I could.

So I have to look for photos! The trouble is that the old ones are so small that you don't see the details. But I should have one or two of our daughter being dressed in some of Daddy's clothes.
Oh, the photos are just an optional extra. I've even found that people just like a photo of the right baby. I sold a very scruffy doll and the photo of the three girls, one of whom owned it, is now stored with the doll by her new owner.
And most of this stuff will go to the US if you list it so it can..

Love the photo top-tip, thanks. I don't suppose I'm likely to be selling anything like this, but if I do... And the tip can probably be exported across to other items/ideas.
I learned it from a real expert seller of this stuff - she put such a photo in each listing when she could.

I suppose I will have to get permission from the wearers, as they are still alive
