Here are the exemption instructions we will be posting later today if anyone wants to apply now. This is for eBid Stores. Don't forget if your item is listed in an eBid Store then exemption will be required for the Store. If your item is not listed in a Store then exemption will be required for your username (available later today)

1. Locate the GSIN number located on your "My eBid" > "My eBid Stores" page. It is in small grey text just below the "Summary" section.
2. Visit http://www.google.com/support/mercha...e_id_exemption

3. Enter your name.
4. Enter google.exemption@ebid.net as the login email address
5. You your GSIN number into the Account ID box. URL box can be ignored.
6. Enter some information as to why the items in your eBid Store do not or cannot have barcodes. Are they vintage, collectables, home made? Give an example link to some products in your Store.

Uh Oh what did I do? I applied for exemption for two of my stores. One came through but the other didn't. They were applied for within minutes of each other.

One store is online and has a few items in it. The second store is not on line and has nothing in it. Could that be the reason? Should I reapply?

I got exemption for the comic book store, but none of the others have come through. Hoping any time now... Also just got the comic store completed with the update. Also the antiques and old stuff and craft store. Now to start on book store and then bargain store...Whew.......this sure is a lot of work...

I am not changing anything at all….why should I…???...just list and don’t worry Internet is very big will find you especially if you have good prices and low shipping offer….....
Like ''Astral'' write already in no time some stuff will changes again but if you stcik and depend only for one particular engine or company you will again work for same things...but if you stick with the only (without any big names) Internet which nobody own Internet this is different story........

I agree. There does seem to be an increasing amount of "randomness" in my search responses of late. Probably due to the big search engines opening their nets to catch a bigger market.

Applied for exemption for two of my stores (Postcard Corner & Graceland Gates) and received two emails confirming their success. Now, after noticing I haven't had a sale for two weeks, I notice there's no mention of their exemption beside the GSID numbers and I can't find a lot of my items. When I click on the google links I'm told my item has been deleted as it's been more than 75 days. I know I must be going wrong somewhere but where? Suspect it might be at stage 3 where it asks for my name, I entered my real name.
Just an idea but if these changes are causing as much confusion as it seems then wouldn't it be a good idea if the next eBid newsletter featured DETAILED step by step info on how to apply for your stores to be considered for exemption.
