I water mine about 1x every 2 weeks.......but lightly.....it's about 14-16" tall and about the same wide. The pot is about 8" across. And it's humid here.....like ILL. Same soil, I'd agree time for a change after 12 years.......don't go with a heavy clay soil.......just something that isn't so airy as the mixture you have. Also, not sure it needs peat.....compost....all that fairly acidic stuff. But, read up on it....don't just take my word. I don't want to have to send you a condolance card!! lol

the first site tells how to propagate from leaves........which might be good to do before you transplant. Cut some of the leaves and start to propagate, then, when the leaves are healed, it will also be less stressful for the plant when you repot if it has fewer leaves to deal with.

Second site says to use airy soil........lol

Yeah, I'm crazy. Always sad if I lose a plant. A few years back I left my prize Jade out on the deck through a frost. It started wilting and after bring it in I couldn't save it. The plant was huge, filled a 2' deep 24" round pot the largest "trunk" measured 8" thick. Cut off all the wilted stuff and ended up with 1 small sprout coming out of the main root. I cut the root down repotted it with the sprout sticking out of the soil and now I have 5 Jades from that one and have given away at least ten others. The largest has a 6" trunk/main stem stands about 4'6" tall out of the 2' pot and is about 3' in diameter. When they are brought outside in the summer they flower which mis pretty interesting. I was just glad I saved the original.

Thank you very much. I'll read the links and give it a go.

To go back to egg white.

Albumen acts as a substitute for blood serum, partly helps the wound to act as if the skin is not broken.

Personally I will not touch aloe vera. Might have a little to do with the name of my ex-wife, Vera.

I will however drink aloe vera. 1 litre of aloe vera and 3 litres of grape juice makes a wonderfully aromatic wine.

A little egg white can help to clear the wine if it is cloudy, as well as, of course, treat burns.
