Here is something that may interest the folks on this site. I happened to hear a segment on the Today show about selling used clothing, and a lady by
the name of Jill Martin, who has written a book entitled 'I Have Nothing to Wear', was encouraging everybody to sell their unused clothing on eBay
saying it was free to sell there, and you would have scads of cash in your pocket. Needless to say I have already sent a message with my opinion about her erroneous information. I thought some of you would want to add your opinion. I personally feel they should be bombarded. If they are going to
mention sites, they should get their information correct. I listed eBid and several other sites that are free or very low cost (with the exception of the
packaging and mailing expense, of course) in my message to them. The link I used for commenting is:

    today.msnbc.msn.com/id/44147260 the newsvine section.

Your input will go a long way to spread the word about eBid as a great online selling venue.

Thanks for posting this Janice. This is a chance for everyone who sells on ebid.net to get a little media attention. Everyone should go to the Today show link and post a comment about how ebay does not let everyone sell for nothing. Everyone here always wants to get people tounderstand ebid is better than ebay. Well this is a chance of as lifetime. Erroneous information was given if even half of the 950,000 people express their outrage at the out and outlies this Jill Martin is expousing we could get attention on eid and free advertising.

This is what I posted:It most definitely is NOT FREE to list and sell on Ebay. They give a person listing auctions 50 free auctions a month then there is as listing fee. If they use more than four pictures there is another fee. Some categories such as clothes I think you only get one free picture. Also they charge a final value fee of 10% of what your item sells for. They have also now instituted a final value fee on shipping which we make no profit for. I also sell on ebid.net. They charge a Lifetime fee of $49.99 and the final value fee is only 2% and that is only if you use pictures and they do not tack on extra fees for shipping which we make no money on. Check them out.

If you are giving Ebay free advertising you should do the same for the other online selling sites, such as ebid.net, bonanza, etc. And you should have your facts straight when you go on national TV promoting a selling site.

Let's work together to promote ebid.

Tried to add a comment but it didn't take, guess eBay doesn't like comparisons.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

I would try again. If enough people voice their opinion eBid will get the recognition it deserves. it is sad that anytime the media mentions online selling, they name eBay. I think eBid deserves to be recognized as a great online selling venue in the U. S.
