Thread: NInja Lister - grrrrrrrrr

  1. #1

    Default NInja Lister - grrrrrrrrr

I just opened up Ninja to continue some work I was doing yesterday on my calendar bookmarks - got half way thru listing them when had to stop as ran out of time.
Was going to do the other 100 today.

Got offered upgarding to Ninja 99.62 - not for the first time, but until now I had ignored it.
I decided to download it this time for some reason or other unknown to myself.

Everything vanished (not quite everything - 1 folder and 4 auctions sets with a total of approx 300 listings are left)

I had 14 folders in my previous version - and each folder had around between 5 and 8 auction sets in them.
    Total of around 14,000 listings.

    All gone.

    Absolutely wonderful.

And yes - I do back-ups - did one yesterday when I finished.
    All back-ups have vanished too.

There is simply no way I can get most of that information back.
Around 6,000 of the items were items I only list in the build-up to Christmas - and there is no way I can make the time to re-do them.

Best I say no more right now - but to say am furious would be an understatement.

Try to do a system restore. Go to a point you had before you downloaded the new ninja. Don't know. But it might work. Hope for you it does.

Unfortunately system restore wont help on this occasion - the files have vanished.

    Thanks anyways.

Just means that those 6,000 items wont be listed this year.
Simply havent got time to re-do them now.

When Ninja works - it is ok.
When it goes wrong - it can be disastrous.

    Just one of those things.

But I thought a system restore was supposed to put computer back to state before a new download was done. Including restoring the lost files.

I was pulling my hair out over this (just as well I needed a haircut anyway - aint had one for about 6 years!).

    Ive given up on it.
I try and get all my new designs and listingsready by August bank holiday - already running flat out to get all done by then without re-doing the missing ones.

Dunno if it will help or not, but try going to Google and searching on "undelete". Or do the same at tucows.com

There are various packages out there that can help you retrieve files that have been accidentally deleted. The quicker you do it, the more chance there is of them being retrievable.

Can't recommend any particular one though.
