Hi Rob, welcome to eBid and the Forum. I stayed in Leven last year - wonderful Fife, and there was a new person joined very recently from Pittenweem. I wish you lots of sales. Just ask if you need help. There is usually someone about who has the knowledge needed and there are help pages & Faq's + video's too.
Best Wishes to all new people.
Hi Everyone
We just launched our book sales site on Ebid tonight, we are called SuperbBooks and have never used Ebid before, we have no idea how busy it's going to be but we thought it would be worth trying what we hope will be a good competitor to the big boys Amazon and EBay.
We only have a small selection of 500 or so items listed at the moment and aim to get all of our listings (about 5000) on in the next few days
If anyone has any tips on using the site we would really like to hear them
Cheers
Toby
SuperBooks
Welcome everyone
SuperbBooks, I just had a look at your listings, may I sugest that you give your shop some sub categories? I like to browse, but gave up on page 2 and I know quite a few people shop this way. If I like to read romance books, I don't want to wade through a large number of children's books for example. I know it takes a bit of time, but I am sure it'll help (I rarely search for a specific author or title)
Hello new to ebid, just listed yesterday this site is so much better than that other site (it had way to many complicated rules and fees) I wish I'd known about this sooner.
Good morning everyone. I'm new to eBid, and disappointed to say that so far I am not impressed. I really liked the ease of signing up, and the very clear and professional looking website, even signed up for seller+lifetime...but when I woke up this morning my listings were gone.
I left eBay because they kept taking down my listings for "trademark violations" (except a Verified Rights Owner (VeRO) never reported me, else I would have been given the opportunity to contact them). I was very careful not to violate trademarks, even added a copy of my receipt to prove authenticity.
One of two things may have happened. 1) Since I am new, they thing I shouldn't be selling high-end merchandise (that is what eBay told me and I had been with them for 8 years - that while I had a selling history, it wasn't good enough to sell the good stuff), 2) It may appear that I posted the same item twice in a row. While it might seem like that, I was selling 10 sets of white, and 10 sets of black headsets - same brand, different model and UPC - and I made that clear in the posting.
Problem is, I didn't get an e-mail telling me what I did wrong, so I'm afraid to relist. In addition, I'm still on the hook for the featured listing cost. I was excited to start using eBid, fees seemed reasonable, I hope they respond to my e-mail soon![]()
Hi and Greetings ELDawson.....
As far as I am aware, as long as your auction 'titles' are all different in their wording - then you shouldn't have a problem with 'duplicate' listings. I didn't see your listings but if the 'model' was shown in your title as different, (or any minor wording difference at all), then that should be OK.
That being the case, it may be more to do with the 'high-end merchandise' like you say.....
But eBid are good at responding to member's problems though.....![]()
hi, im here to get rid of a few of my ex girlfriends. she dont want them but im sure someone does, happy bidding people![]()
Thanks EmporiumDays,
I got a reply that said: "Your listings were removed as they infringe the rights of Monster Cable Products, Inc by using Copyrights belonging to Monster Cable Products, Inc"
Turns out using a picture I took myself, and using the words "NIB* Black Monster Beats by Dr Dre Studio" in my title and description was enough to violate copyrights? I just named the darn product - this is ridiculous!!
I didn't use any logo except for what was on the box when I took the pictures, and I used the word "Monster" because they are the manufacturer.
