Jim it is very rare to find an uncensored forum anywhere. every site has to protect itself. I did not drop in to that particular thread after your initial post. It may well be a particular reply contravened their policies - or even perhaps the whole thread (it was about 'feebay' a competitor site and we do know that word is not liked here
Having said that, I always think it is good manners that when a thread / post is nuked admin should inform the poster as to why. I try to do that on forums I run
As feebay have a rule saying that all postings about other sites will be deleted. Then maybe the boys have made one here.I must admit that i don't care what feebay do.if i want i can go and look.No malice intended by the way.

this has been mooted a lot in the past and I have to say , like others , I can see no reason for the site not to tell the offending poster what is wrong...if we do not know , we will just keep making the same kind of mistake....and these mistakes could be made in all innocence...I do not think any poster does it deliberately......papa.
.
Once again, could I suggest that if ebid find's a post in a thread is not suitable, that they just remove that post, rather than the whole thread.
We often get some good discussions going, which are often very useful and they get deleted!
An active forum is the sign of a site going somewhere.
they are a law
