You are not obligated to pay for the postage yourself. Many sellers don't

Most of my items on YDC have started on - or very near - their normal selling price. I only tried the 99p route once - and I ain't doing it again! It also means that I can, if I want, run my auctions a bit longer than the competition ones (four days). I do charge P&P (cos I can't afford NOT to!) but keep this to a minimum.

I'm not sure if you're responding to me or not ... thanks for the information. I did find talk about the YDC confusing when I first joined, but I think that I understand how it all works now.

Marie, that was for your info, but it is also useful for anyone else that might be interested. I nearly always forget to add a quote

I usually, tho not always, donate the postage along with the item, and figure it's a win-win that way...in addition to people feeling like they are getting a good deal, and the charity perhaps getting more money, it's good advertising to have your items getting so many views. If I list an item also to overseas, then I usually add some postage charges to YDC auctions. Some people don't. I guess it just depends on how flush you are feeling at any particular time!! lol

As far as listing your items for longer than 4 days, I thought ALL YDC auctions had to be for 4 days only, not just the competition. I do understand non-YDC auctions can run as long as the lister wishes..........................

As there is nothing to stop anyone from putting "YDC" in their titles and there is no way of enforcing the "rules", compliance depends on mutual agreement!
As the real purpose is to raise money for charity the rules are relatively unimportant.
