It was an expression used in one of the Carry On films back in the 60's. It was either Carry on Doctor or Carry On Matron.

Never heard of that one. My across the pond experiences include naturally, Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, Dr. Who, Benny Hill, Dave Allen at Large, No Honestly, Black Adder, Mr. Bean, Are you being served, about all that comes to mind that I can remember. Be patient I'm American. What do we got Andy Griffith, Beveryly Hillbillies and now reality TV. I'll stick with the old ones mentioned above and by all means a cartoon sitcom here called Family Guy...hilarious!
