Ebid unofficial group due to be archived on Facebook

Im never quite sure about fb and other social networking sites like it. Does that mean anyone on ebid (or any other group you join fb from) gets to access your personal fb info, photos and all or do people set up seperate profiles for facebook? Cos it certainly does seem a good opportunity to advertise too.

You set your own privacy settings on facebook. If you post on the group, only what you post there is public.

I just joined it....but it looks like it will be archived and a new group will need to be started..............seems it's the formatting that is the issue. At least that's how I read it....................

yep, I had to rescue my theatre and re-enactment facebook groups, made all the more fun by the fact the upgrade links didnt show in my Firefox (argh!) in the end I had to get my boyfriend in as an admin on them to do them from his house/ computer as he could see the upgrade link. I dont like the new facebook groups format anyway, I liked the old one. *huff*

Have just tried to join facebook but couldnt get through the final bit over password so will try & get Somer to have a look for me presently, have kept meaning to join 1 of thise things dont get round to. hopefully hell sort it for me.

Now that group looks MUCH better - like something that people care about. With 462 members (and growing), it ought to manage a post more than once a month. Please try to visit and post now and then. If you can't think of anything else to post, just post a link to your listings with a description of what you sell. Who knows who will see it.

I apologise for everyone having to wait for my approval. The other admin abandoned that group years ago and I got in touch with him to ask him to add me to bring it back to life. I can't find out how to change that setting which has appeared since I upgraded the group.
