The only category available for these is Books/Fiction/Literature, Modern
That's a very broad field, and certainly doesn't lend itself to browsing
I believe all of these have been made into movies. They would all be listed under
Movies & DVDs/DVD/Drama or Movies & DVDs/VHS/Drama
Oh, no! being made into a film doesn't change the status of a book!

That is not what I said! The genre doesn't change because a book is made into a film. If it is a drama when it's made into a movie, then it must also have been a drama when it was published as a book. If eBid recognizes this as a subcategory for Movies, they should also recognize it is valid for books.
There ARE many subcategories on eBid for Books/Fiction. Among them are Adventure, Classics, Crime, Family Sagas, Fantasy, Historical, Horror, Humour, Romance, etc. etc. etc. But books such as "The Color Purple" or "The Wayward Bus" have to be dumped into Literature, Modern because they don't fit into any of the existing subcategories.
Please also note that Barnes & Nobles, Amazon, eBay, and many specialty book stores on the internet list "Drama" as a separate category/genre in Fiction books. I'm not pulling this out of thin air.
After reviewing eBay and Amazon we have added Film/TV Adaptations as a sub category - pending server reset.
