Thank you all for your answers.
Well looks like Babs n Ray are right about you knowing your stuff Cornishmaid! This pattern on your jug is very similar to mine. I did have a feeling it might be European, but not the UK, never dreamt of the Welsh connection. Missed the obvious there! lol my excuse is Im English so not so au fait with the Welsh stuff.
This is about 3 inches high. I did originally research ink pots as I too suspected it could be, but then looked up mustard pots.
Still not sure which it is but I think you have given some very accurate advice on this Cornishmaid. I shall look into all this further.
Thanks again :-)
Looks to me like a picture of a hand painted pot, sitting on top of a mahogany table in front of turqoise drapes and white shears.
Haha, very good and observant Adrumi, I see you are also a comedian aswell as a musician
Glad I was able to help a bit and hope you manage to find out which firm produced it. I'm still pretty convinced yours is an English one not only from the pattern but from the fact that it has a pattern number on it. The Gaudy Welsh pottery tends to be unmarked or just has a small painter's mark.
pmsl - That Meebo she would sell me if she got the chance !
