Woah... all that taking your stores offline does, is throw your items out into the general list and leave them running. The holiday notice will work, but that last bit might give the wrong impression, so just sayin'.

Having just been out of town for 4 days (put my listings on hold) I can say that people can still ask questions and if you don't answer within 24 hours you do get a nudge for not answering a question. There must be some way to block questions in order for this to work. I am concerned because this summer I will be gone for several periods of time and will need to put my things on hold.

My thoughts exactly. Maybe eBid could add a bit where you could shut off the Q&A if you're on holiday, to be reactivated when you return and make your listings active again? Just a thought...

I've put a store on holiday (there's not much in it anyway) and tested the Q&A thing. Will wait to see what happens about nudges and come back to you. Unless somebody has an answer already, of course!
