How come the AV referendum is being run on a 'First Past The Post' basis?

If it was possible to "like" posts, I would be clicking the button straightaway lol

As for me, I'm a Yes Man, it gives people more options, and you can still only vote for one person if you want to - like the old system.

    I voted "yes"
Say a candidate gets 40% of the vote,
that means 60% of the voters or the majority don't want that candidate.

Therefore first past the post is wrong.

Voting by mail must be carefully monitored.
As to those who don't realise how lucky they are to live in a democracy and do not appreciate the privilege in having the right to a vote should be given a good shake.
It's hard enough to encourage the less politically minded people to make the effort of finding their way towards the voting booths let alone making things more complicated for them!

OK! But it WAS just a tiny rant!!!
When did speaking ones mind in a so called democracy become a rant? More media influenced jargon.
Well I agree, THIS is an issue that needs dealing with, its like an out of control de-railed train. Also Im fed up of self-seeking politicians and politics and their condescending, narrow minded attitoodes. Power hungry, over paid but above all completely forgetting it is they who are supposed to be serving US and paid by US and NOT the other way round. The same goes for councils, their arrogance and self appointed rights they have to answer to no one need a complete shake-up.
THIS is not what democracy is about. Once it gets its house in order, then I may think about voting, when I can trust them to even HAVE my vote.

I think the only thing for a reasonable person to do is to vote YES
Those who only want one vote, still get one vote with AV.
Those who vote NO are depriving those who want to vote YES of their preference, when voting either way does not affect them.
The reason I want AV is because it gives me more ability to keep someone I don't like, OUT. That is no wasted vote means.
