Default Birmingham Childrens Hospital - Heart Appeal

    Exciting news!
I have just had a phone call from BCH Fundraising to say that I am able to promote/sell my Handmade Cards Gifts & Keepsakes in aid of Birmingham Children's Hospital Heart Appeal, and use their logo etc.
We are grateful for their help with my (then) baby's heart defect. She's a lovely little girl now and other than the chest scar she has, you wouldn't be able to tell she had a Congenital heart problem and was fighting for her life!

I'm just waiting for the lady to send my Letter of Authenticity for anyone who requires more proof than the 'Contribution Thank you' they email me, some stickers (which I will stick on to the back of my handmade cards & keepsakes) and some balloons which I will give out per buyer of my personally sold child-related toys & clothes etc in my Allsorts Store.

Hopefully, this will give me a big boost and encourage me to list more items, and relight my passion for Crafting (time allowing!) I will aim to keep you all updated in my "BlossomTree News & Offers" plug.

Okay, it's time to get listing some more handmade items I think, and before I forget, let me take this opportunity to thank all of you for taking the time to read this / browse my Handmade & Allsorts..stores / buy an item - every penny counts!

Many thanks M, I've just started to list some Disney cards and will aim to churn out more tomorrow since the girls are staying over at Grandparents (peace and quiet)

I second meebo and am very glad things worked out for your little girl. My infant niece wasn't so lucky, she had heart surgery at two months and died the same day, we still miss our little angel, glad to hear your daughter is doing well and that this thing is beatable.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

Nice to know they're flexible enough to allow individual supporters to do such things - well done them, and well done you.

Thanks all for your support ~ as you can imagine, I was pleasantly surprised to hear they were willing to accept my proposal. Their initial application form leant more towards the traditional one-off big event so I wrote direct with my intentions and although I still had to fill out the form, they knew where I was coming from. In actual fact, they were apologetic for the delay in responding, and are so appreciative with what's been donated so far (around £100 elsewhere). That's a lot to me but probably a small droplet to the hospital since it's actually quite shocking to hear that a large feeding syringe costs £50 each (!) My daughter had to have one every 2-3 hrs !

@ Sue - I'm so sorry to read about your niece and my condolences go out to her family. The collections I hope to build here will go towards the Heart Appeal. As you say, there is always hope and so much more that can and will be done to save our little ones. xxx

    Just a quick update:

My letter and support material (stickers for crafted items and balloons for kids Allsorts items) have arrived through the post today from the BCH, so my Fundraising activities are now registered with the Charity.
I also have a Supporter number and Event Number which I must remember to quote upon submitting collected donations; any friends or family may also quote these numbers should they wish to make donations direct.
