@Bykimbo
Why is it ego polishing ?
And could you explain bowdlerised ?
(thats two more views to this thread papagran!)
For it
Against
ego-polishing?
Would it not be beneficial to the site?
Would all active sellers benefit from having it know whether or not they have been logged in?
If the poll is highly favored maybe eBid would make the change. Never underestimate the tide of popular opinion. They can use it as an asset to get people to come here. People will KNOW when they come to eBid they are going to deal with a active person who is around and not a ghost.
Wot Kim sed @ #10 goes for me 2.
The OP turns up every now and then, starts a few polls, and then disappears again. Not sure what they get out of it - but I don't play.
bowdlerised = censorship
Wiki is remarkable!
It's called a full-time job, and college. No where have you been how has life been treating you. No concern at all?
Oh the coldness of cyberspace. It is a breeding ground for apathy.
If I have web-site making skills I'd make make my own voice chat room. I think there would be more of a dialogue if you could have an actually one. Verbal communications is what separates us from our cousins the chimps. It would make us more warm an fuzzy to one another.
There will be no video chat though... Have to limit how warm and fuzzy we get in this crazy place, and who knows what people would do on them.
I do know on our stores that if your click on the tab "About Store" it will tell you the last time the shopkeeper logged in. I think this is very good. I did not know about it until I read it here on the forums. As far as people just listing, I don't know how you would tell when they were here last. Also on the hot sellers list, it lets you know when a member was last seen. So I think for the store thing it is already here.

When it comes to using software, people generally just go where the need to go.
They do not spend time reading each screen (page) to see what options there are.
Especially in todays busy world.
So whilst it is good that that tab is there, I doubt if many new buyers would look there.
And we need some research/input into this qustion.
How many new buyers would come on to a site such as ebid and buy an item as soon as they saw it.
How many would research for other listings and check on the sellers About Me page and feedback etc.
