Yes - ebid has sufficient buyer protection
No - ebid needs more buyer protection
Don't know

I'm not voting on this, either because no matter how good a sites security, scammers will find a way round it, ut I'll leave a comment.
No internet site that allows members to sell on it will ever be 100% free of scammers but eBid has more protection for buyers than eBay.
EBay has NO buyer protection, they cancelled it a couple of years ago and now rely on PayPal's buyer protection. PayPal's buyer protection applies equally to ALL payments regardless of the site the sale was made on.
So, assuming the buyer uses a safe method to pay - PayPal, Visa Debit/Credit Card (or any other credit card for purchases over £100) they can claim through their payment method.
The reason I say eBid has better buyer protection than eBay is that they deal with problem sellers a lot faster than eBay
does.
Unfortunately, you will always get people who don't do their homework, take ridiculous risks and then blame the venue for their own stupidity.

As in the other thread, I was looking for conclusive information that SNAD applies with off-ebay sales. As in the other thread, I've just found it. Ebid's FAQ and help doesn't describe buyer protection well.
However, there is still the question about whether the possibility of tit for tat feedback descreases the value of feedback on ebid or not, and whether this affects safety.
I started this thread to ask for the opinions of other people, not to promote my own opinion. But, I feel there needs to be an effective solution to the problem of retalitory feedback. I'm not saying that any particular solution is the right one.
I've just bought the book mentioned in post 56 of the other thread. But, I'm very unlikely to find out how buyer protection works as the postal service around my way is very reliable.
