Does eBid or PayPal calculate postage on Buy It Now?

I just had a successful BIN from a new eBidder (), where she paid through PayPal before I sent an invoice. 2 odd things: PayPal didn't show which method of postage she had selected, and there was $2.50 included in the BIN - which was obviously for the postage.

But when I checked postage prices to the address, the closest were Media Mail at $2.38, and Parcel Post at $4.90. I use the eBid shipping calculator for all my listings, so now I am wondering: did eBid round up the postage charge, or did PayPal? Is there some setting at PayPal I need to alter to allow the eBid shipping calculator to work properly?

And any idea why PayPal didn't show me what postage method she selected?

It has been noticed and reported on another auction site that since the 1st of April Paypal no longer show postage as a seperate entry when you get a payment

On all my auction, PayPal just shows the total and puts their grubby little mitts in to take their share.

That must be because eBay is going to start including S&H in the final value fee for the transaction. Grrrrrrr.

I went in and checked, and "Click here to allow transaction-based postage values to override" is checked.

So is it PayPal or eBid that did a mis-calculated $2.50 for the postage charge?

Just realised: most of my eBay sales have had over-calculated postage despite me using their shipping calculator. So perhaps this means it is a PayPal problem with instant BIN payments?

No idea. I would contact support. They should have records of what data was passed to PayPal for the transaction.
