Thread: email or web hyper links not working

  1. #1

Default email or web hyper links not working

    Hi Guys.
I've been trying to insert an email link in my listing for buyers to contact me directly but it won't stay as my target email. Instead it just reads .uk in the email addres line when clicked.
I have no bother with this in that other internet auction site you may have heard of.
When editing the listisng I'm highlighting the word, then selecting the insert hyper link icon, then selecting email etc but without luck.
    Any help would be appreciated.

It is against eBid rules to include email addresses or links in your listings.

You need to take them off your all about me page too.

Ok, but why give the option in the listing for links and email addresses in the listing designer in the first place??

I expect the WYSIWYG Editor used by eBid is an outsourced one and eBid is not allowed to change the coding.

Links are allowed as long as they are not ecommerce ones.

Worth reading the posting rules ( http://uk.ebid.net/help_selling.php#29 ) before you go any further.

Remove what facility? The ability to use any links or the removal of disallowed links?

If the former, then why? Links are a very useful feature of listings.

If the latter, then again why? The only disallowed links are those that could either be detrimental to eBid as a business or encourage off-site sales.

Just follow the site rules and there is no confusion. If you had originally listed according to the rules on links then there would never have been an issue to cause you confusion.
