A couple years ago i couldn't get onto eBid at all at home. My ISP at that time was Time-Warner (it still is). I took my laptop computer to a restaurant that offered free WIFI and was able to get onto eBid every time. They used a different ISP.

As I understand it, my internet route from Texas to eBid, which was then on servers in the UK, routed me through Herndon,Virginia, among many other locations. Back at home,I used command prompt to tracert (sp?) and found a roadrunner server in Herndon was timing me out consistently. I believe human intervention could have "flipped a switch" somewhere to fix the problem but I had to keep calling Time Warner so-called help over and over before finally something or somebody jarred loose. It was rather annoying to put it mildly. It took approximately 6 weeks to get the problem solved. I was indulging in paranoid conspiracy theories at times.

Good luck to you finding your problem and solution. I hope other users of Talktalk can help you.

I do that with my brain regularly - doesn't seem to work though.

Harold - my PC has been on and off like.... oops - can't say what I was gonna - not on here! Been on and off rather a few times. It was actually one of the first things I tried because I've found that sometimes that DOES work. Not this time though!
