Default A new take on Afghanistan

There is an exhibition on at the British Museum at the moment on Afghanistan.

It makes the point that Afghanistan has had 3000 years of culture as the crossroads between India and the North and between China and the West, and that what is happening there at the moment is a blip in history.

I am suspicious of propaganda, but seeing the artefacts from 2000 years ago gives you some respect and hope for the future of the people there, though the Taliban who destroyed huge Buddhist statues in one part, are not good news for Afghanistani culture.

Default Re: A new take on Afghanistan

Thanks for posting this. It's true about the culture of the area and the people as well, which is why I, for one, am against the present state of war that exists, though I do agree that something needs to be done about those who disrespect human life in its many and varied forms as well as priceless antiquities.

Best wishes for many sales to all,
