I've had a look-see at your auctions and about the only thing I can add to the already great suggestions made by others to this thread is in regards to your books. I would suggest that you take them OFF Run Until Sold (RUS)...all those listings will do is sit at the bottom of the 'pile' collecting dust and never move up for better views by potential buyers. You should consider putting them on Buy It Nows, 10 days, 10 auto-relists...just MHO, and best of luck to you here at eBid!

    @Barepocket.

There are 900,000 books on ebid at the moment.

You have 45 and most of them are Run Until sold.
As Iwi60 says that means they will be at the bottom of the list
It is a well known fact that people only scan through 2 or three pages of listings before they get bored.

So they are NEVER going to see your books.

if you do as IWi60 says they will rise to the top of the pages every 7 or 10 days and will get seen by all the book buyers, so that at least you have a chance of selling them.

    Give it a try !

A few more suggestions. I thought I posted earlier today. Perhaps it was pulled for some reason.

First, you need to include some information in your listings for Google to index. Google especially likes "meta information" about books. ISBN, Title and Author, tagged appropriately so Google will know what they are would be a minimum. Publisher and date is a good idea as well.

Second, avoid mentioning the word "shipping" in your descriptions. If you can avoid it altogether, that's best. Let your shipping charges and policies address that. If you must put something about shipping in the description, put it last, and make sure there's sufficient material above it that Google can index.

Google severely penalizes listings which mention "shipping," especially in the opening part. Their search scoring is proprietary, so nobody knows for sure, but the advice I've seen is to make certain you have at least 256 characters (some say 512 characters) of description before the first mention of the word "shippping." You definitely won't show up in Google searches if the word shipping is in your opening line or two.

On eBid, it appears that showing in Google searches is more important than on the other large auction site. Showing in Google Product/Shopping searches brings new buyers here. There aren't as many hard core buyers who go directly to eBid and search here. Showing on Google is more important here than on the bay.

You have got more brownie points than me!
But I have made more sales than you.

I have had a quick look and nothing really comes to mind.
You About Me page is nice.
I don't know anything about fine china etc.
    Surely it should sell.
Are your items showing up on Google ?
Are you in the right ebid browsing categories?
Have you looked through the browsing list and looked at other listings to see how they are doing and compare prices etc.

Hopefully someone else with more knowledge will be along to help.

    Julie
Images show up on google images, pictures are tagged.

Fine china Japan, Delft categories (debating whether to ask the bosses for specific - Imperial Fukagawa & Royal Delft- sub categories. Gut feeling not enough items here.)

Prices are fair, even had to delete an item here because it sold on e**y for $10.00 more + shipping??

    Thank you for looking.

    Hi and welcome to eBid.

Agree with Julie, your listings look fine to me. Maybe offer items (if possible) to more countries to increase your visibility. Also don't forget promo - tell past and present customers on other sites you're selling here as well as friends, neighbors, and anyone you think might be interested. Many people use Facebook, Twitter, etc. to promote their listings. You can also use the Plug Your Auctions section of the forum to advertise your wares.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

    Thank you Sue,
New to online selling, so for the moment including only English speakers.(Forum tip for newbies)

Just did a few searches per Julies suggestion...interesting.

    1) De Porceleyne Fles 17 results, all mine.

    2) Royal Delft 26 results, mine + dcreplacements

    3) Delft 160 results, mine + Motley crew of people who do not what they have & (Peeve here) do not show makers marks.

Short story. I believe I am in the right price range for the material, I think I list in the correct category.

I have a Facebook account ( A reluctant consession to see my Nephews graduation pictures) Where / How does this come in to play?
    It smacks of spam mail?

You can use some tools to automagically put your items on your FaceBook or feed them to your Twitter.

Check out http://twitterfeed.com/ for one tool to autmoate the task.

That tool feeds off of the "RSS feed" for your store. You can get that from the little icon at the top of your store page, just after the "Add to my favorite stores" link. For your store, the RSS feed is http://us.ebid.net/perl/rss.cgi?type...title=Magsmart
