    Default Another fees-rise fom you-know-who

e8ay announced a 'fairer' fee structure today. Check for yourself if it is as 'fair' as they make-out.

Makes interesting reading. I will now think twice before using them for low-value items in the future.

Hi James, I don't think you will get many comments on this as the topic has already been done to death and threads have been removed because of negativity ! Sellers have to make their own decisions about what is best for their business and if they feel it is worth paying those high fees, it is their choice. Personally I would rather put in some more work here and help eBid flourish.

Looking forward to seeing you get some stock into your eBid shop !

The article is rather inaccurate as eBid recently passed the 4,000,000 listings mark! I hope you will be able to put that right,James!

Which kind of makes me wonder if we should remove the thread "Over a half million auctions at last". Visitors and Newbies may look at the title without going into the thread and believe eBid is only sporting half million listings then turn and run.

In other words.........A landlord raises his ground rent.

    How unusual.

I agree adruml, that over half a million thread should be removed. It is very old and at some point a new thread should be started. I never go on it because of how huge it is. It would be much more advantageous for someone to start a new updated thread, which I think is already done isn't it?

By the way I am from Chicago. Do you ever go to Chamblee's auctions in Rockland? It is right down Midland, they are listed on auction zip. Once in awhile they get musical instruments and I always cringe because they seem to sell very low. If I had a family member I would buy the darn things because they seem so cheap.

    Have wonderful, prosperous sales

That thread started in 2008 and shows how far eBid has come since then as the listing and membership figures are updated there regularly and accurately - that squidoo article was written recently in response to the recent e*** announcements and the figures are totally out of date.

I just think that having a thread that says we now have half a million listings could be off putting to prospective members.

Many people come to the forums just to check out ebid.

It is really used now for just for a bit of fun and chat.

If you really want to keep it then get Admin to change its title, to " This site currently has ......"
