I didn't know Q&As were all visible to everyone. I feel such a twit now!
I thanked a seller for a lovely little freebie which came with my purchase. Smelling divine I thanked them for the individual soaps. Advised by this lovely seller they were soy wax melts, to which I responded 'Oh, LoL, good job I didn't try to have a wash! That'll teach me to read labels! I wouldn't want to take this off, I think it demonstrates the relationship between sellers and buyers. But I will be more careful in future.
The Q & A's on an auction listing BEFORE it closes is posted for all to see. What you say to someone AFTER THE SALE on the After Auction drop down log is private................

Frankly, I'm not too sure that having all questions appear with their answers posted in listings are a good thing. While it may appear that this promotes honest selling, there are times when a question is specific only to the person asking the question and would serve no useful purpose becoming part of the listing. I believe that allowing the seller to control what is included in the listing makes more sense.
While it hasn't happened to me here, I've received such questions as, "Why are you charging that much for shipping?" and "Why are you asking that much for this widget?" I see no reason to have this type of question become a part of the listing. In fact, I would consider it borderline auction interference if the person asking knew that the Q&A became part of the listing.
Thank you JaBek1! That's EXACTLY my point. And I don't understand why some are so hard against having options.
Q..."Why are you charging that much for shipping?" and "Why are you asking that much for this widget?"
A..cos it is a heavy item and that is what it costs to ship and ..cos it is worth it - (I have it, if someone wants it then it is worth it to them!!!
I don't mind answering these questions.. if that person don't want it, someone will...

all feedback from eBid
We've been showing Q&A on live items since I can remember. The main reason was for complete transparency and to stop fraud. Scammer buyers attempting to buy off site an scammer sellers trying to arrange payment by Western Union or bank transfer just to name a couple. When the results are public we find users much more restrained in their underhand activities.
I'd be reluctant to change the policy but will listen to everyone and also put our knowledge of what goes on in the background that many of you are unaware of into any final decision.
