I'm also a nurse , who has worked in long term peds & geriatrics. I felt it was a blessing to take care of my mother. Almost felt like that was why I had become a nurse in the first place. When I made the decision to stop working & take care of my mother it was hard because I was working with home bound ventilator dependent children. Loved my work. Even used to take some of the school-aged kids to school with their vents & other equipment. But you know one thing, there were nurses lining up to take care of those kids. Often times the elderly are abandoned or not valued. I would not have been able to look in the mirror, if I hadn't taken care of my mother in her home as she wanted.

Being a care giver is not easy; I keep that in mind when dealing with families that feel they have no other option. I would not recommend to anyone that they stop working to do that, unless they really can. Also, it is not always safe for a person to be home. Each circumstance is different. I'm glad to see that they are putting more emphasis on caring for care givers.

Julie - funny you mention this. I've ONLY sold expensive stuff here! Sold ONE comic book for $250 - another for $90 - another for $50... few for $20-25... and recently a couple more for $18 a piece!
I'd actually like to sell more of the lower .99 cent ones (just to move inventory) but I'll take any sale any day of the week. :0)
