Whatever happened to men's jackets?

For the past couple of weeks I have been trying to buy a smart jacket. Something I could wear when a full suit is a bit too much. It seems nobody sells then nowadays. I can get a casual jacket, a blazer, or a suit jacket.

I know I don't keep up with fashion but are smart jackets no more?

You can get them astral but I find you can only buy them through what the youngsters would call 'old fashioned' shops - gents outfitters.

I am slightly confused by your request.
If a casual jacket or blazer doesn't fit the bill, then wouldn't a suit jacket be classed as a 'smart' jacket?
If you don't fancy that kind of thing, why not google your request and see what comes up.

I would suggest having a look through some of the online stores such as ... erm ... 'small'woods, Burt'ounces', and definately check out Deben'hocks'.

No sorry, I must have been in the garden clearing up. Now if you had called in I'd have made you a sandwich and tea/coffee and then given you a job in the garden!

edit: forgot to say, you must have been on the M6 because if you had passed through my local town you would have passed the gents outfitters.
