Why do the number of threads go up and down?

At the moment there are only 28 threads showing in new posts.

Another time there might be over 60.

Just curious about the criteria for being in New Posts.

I've noticed that also.
But there are 20 other questions I would like the answer to.

It defines the way that you 'read' or 'use the forums - ie - new posts. A thread qualifies to be in the new posts view when it has had a new post added to it. If there are no new posts to the threads, then they don't show. Hope that helps

Edited to add - If you only want to hide all the threads that you've read or have chosen to ignore and only keep the threads with new info / posts in them to view, once you've read what you want to read, click 'mark forums as read' - it will hide everything. Leave it a minute or two for a bit of chatter to happen, then click on new posts and only active threads will appear. Hope that makes sense. )
