Default Do I tell someone my reserve price?

Hi I am selling my car on ebid, and understandably have a reserve price (don't want to end up selling it for 99p!!). Someone has asked me a question via the auction, and wants to know what the reserve price is.

    Do I tell them??

Sorry I am new selling things and dont really know how it all works, also dont want to break any rules etc. And obviously want to get the best price I can!

    Thanks for any help

    Becky x

You can tell them your reserve if you wish. A lot of sellers don't bother with a reserve price, me included and start an auction with the lowest price we are happy with

Agree with meebo, it's up to you whether or not to reveal the reserve price. I also start auctions at the lowest price and don't bother with reserves, as some buyers (myself included), won't bother bidding if they don't have an idea what the reserve is.

Welcome to eBid and best wishes for many sales,

My starting price and reserve price are the same... list the minimum amount you would be happy to receive - there is a good chance there will be no bidding, so don't rely on a higher price appearing..

Yep low value items can go without reserve price...but high value item can't go or items which cleary worth more of $0.99 or $10 or $100 Seller must set reserve price and by the way in here no bidding wars so be very carefully for your starting price of high value item or item which worth cleary more...

Chances are you will not receive more than one bid anyhow, so even if you feel greedy and want the bidder to make an offer, if their offer exceeds your reserve, the listing will finish at your reserve. Only in the unlikely situation where a second bidder joins in will you get more than the reserve. So go ahead and tell them the reserve price.
