As they had paid, I am sure all is fine. And quite possibly the line will disappear in due course

    Default strike through name

    hi
as long as you sent the item with a tracking number if the buyer decides to try and reverse the payment all you have to do is send that along and you should be protected.
it happened to me once on the other site and i lost the money. i did not send it with a tracking number and could not locate my receipt. lesson learned i now keep much better records.
my problem was that greedbay did not even try to help me recover the money and i cant leave negative feedback for the buyer. i hope that the admin on this site is much better

I bought something at a bargain price. Seller was not impressed about it. Paid through bank transfer as seller didnt have paypal. Then I logon today to find he has a strike through his name. How can I find out if its because of eBid or if its because he has cancelled his account and run off with my money??

I WOULD CONTACT EBID ASAP. he could be in trouble for not honoring bids. you can always reverse with your bank. i would contact ebid right away though just to see whats up with the seller. If a seller doesnt have paypal or some other reputable payment site it usually throws up a red flag for me. good luck and let us know how it turns out. please dont let one bad apple spoil the lot for you. most of us are not scammers.

This is the 2nd time I've used eBid and 2nd time I've had to chase a seller, and I've got over 70 feedback on eBay... each one is positive. Not a good start if both sales have been dodgy on here. I've sent through a contact form to eBid, I hope they can help with this. I'm so disappointed. I know not every seller is like this and I dont mean to seem mopey but I paid over $200 for this item.

I just sold 8 items to a buyer who only registered today and now has a strikethrough their name. I think in my heart I know the answer to this question but would appreciate anyones comments on this. The buyer is in Singapore, only registered before buying my items and now has a stikethrough. I presume the sale isnt going through its a shame it was over £100 worth. and just after Christmas that would be nice, can anyone offer any help please like is there any way I can find out why buyer has strikethrough, and how long should I wait before relisting

Don't panic just yet, it could just be a new user validation hiccough. If the address details don't all match up more checking's done, for the safety of the site and its users. Sure, it could turn out to be bad news, but too early to say immediately. Some of use have suggested that the validation/strike-through thing is a bit too alarming and some changes to the process to make it clear what's going on would be helpful! Fingers crossed for you.

The only person that knows the reason for the strike-through is the person at eBid admin that applied it. Apart from 'it was done to protect you' I doubt they will go into further detail - if you were to ask.

It might be cleared in short order if it is just a details verification issue or they may have spotted something more serious that only admin can see.

As far as I am aware there is nothing to stop you completing the sale (I have done so before) but if things go wrong and you end up out of pocket then don't come back bleating to eBid about it. It's on your own head if you ignore their warnings.

Thanks Kimbo reassuring words I trust ebid to protect sellers so I know there is a good reason for the strike through. a big sale is not one worth having if all is not right so i guess if its right it will go through, and id much rather have a small sale to a reputable buyer that a big one to a dodgy one
Thanks for your advice its much appreciated
