Well today I've just received this text from N.A.H. (national accident helpline)

As far as I can remember I've not been in or had an accident within the past 15years or so. Unless they can predict the future and can see that I'm about to have a serious accident.

The phone was bought not by cash but using my phone fund that I had accumulated over the past 12 months.

    That sounds interesting Craig..

What is a phone fund and how do I go about getting one please?

    I'm assuming it's free?

Phone Fund is where a person buys a phone from Orange and tops up in any amount from £5 to £50 per transaction, for every £10 that is used to top up Orange places £1 into the phone fund balance. So topping up £5 Orange will put 50p into your phone fund balance, you can accumulate upto £200 off a new phone which can then be used either online or instore towards money off a new phone. You do however keep the amount on your phone that you have topped up:

    So if you top up

    £05 = £0.50
    £10 = £1.00
    £15 = £1.50
    £20 = £2.00
    £25 = £2.50
    £30 = £3.00
    £35 = £3.50
    £40 = £4.00
    £45 = £4.50
    £50 = £5.00

But you keep the original balance on your phone that you have topped up by orange don't deduct that amount from your credit.

Also if you join Orange Monkey you get the following deals

    £5 = 25 free texts
    £10 = 300 free texts
    £20 = 600 free texts
    £30 = Unlimited free texts

you also get 2-4-1 on cinema tickets on orange wednesdays by texting film to 241

    Thanks Craig,

So if I spend £360 a year (about what I spend on my landline calls and internet connection) on calls/text on my Orange mobile I would accumulate £36 is that right?

yes I used to get the cinema tickets when I was with orange

That sounds about right, I used to top mine up every 2 weeks with £10 now it's once a month I think my phone fund was about £18 so used £4.50 to get a new standard mobile. Am saving it up to get an iphone when it hits the £200 mark.

You don't need to spend it, just top up when you can.

So every month you top up with £10 and they give you £1 in your phone fund. At that rate it will take you 16 and half years to get the £200 for an iPhone

Plus I assume that iphone is under contract and they normally cost about £500 without a contract
