  1. #1

Default Why should I not use rechargeable batteries in a digital camera?

Just taking some more photos to sell stuff...

There's conflicting info all over the place!
Has anyone had any actual bother using rechargeable batteries in a digital camera?

    Thanks in advance!

Sometimes rechargeable batteries have a little less voltage than alkaline and lithium equivalents and a few cameras do not function properly.

    If they work use them!

I use rechargable batteries in my Fugifilm 10.2 with no probs.

Except maybe that if it's low on power (very low) it won't load pics onto computer.

But that would be the same with throwaway batteries as well.

My Canon Powershot came with ordinary batteries. I have since used rechargeable with no ill effect.
I checked with Google as to which were compatible.

My Kodak came with rechargable Kodak batteries. No problem and last ages.

I think if you were NOT supposed to use them, it would state in the instructions.

My Kodak is the only digital camera I've owned. It came with rechargeable batteries, and I've never had a problem except when I forgot to recharge them. After five years, the batteries stopped holding a charge, so I had to buy some new ones.

    Cheers!
The manual says it's not recommended, but oh well...

99% of the time over the past decade or longer, I've used rechargeable batteries in my various Nikon Coolpix cameras without problem. I think the manuals only warn not to mix rechargeables with disposable batteries. I don't want to be nosy but what brand is your camera, starttthebidding now?
