    I always hold to the faintest glimmer of hope.............when will they know for sure there is no hope?? This whole thing has been such a sad sad time for the families.

    I too send my sympathies. Poor families. What a heartbreak. May they find strength to find something that will bring them comfort to ease their sorrow.

    I am in the North Island, but we are a very small country, and it affects us all.
    Its been such a sad story.
    Its a loss of 29 good men.
    Some from Australia and Scotland and South Africa.

    This story just shows how dangerous mining can be.

    My dad was a miner from age 14 to 62 and I give thanks that he survived the horror of having to go down into the darkness 5 days a week.

    My thoughts are with the families of these men and to all in New Zealand. Britain owes a great deal to you. We should never forget the Anzacs (Senseless waste of lives)

    Sorry I side tracked there but I feel we Brits don't always appreciate what our commenwealth cousins did for us.
