Default Where does this term "Sells" come from

    Hi Guys

I am seeing a lot of people on various forums, saying they have "not had many sells"

    What is a "sells"

Are these people using this term on purpose, or do they not know that its bad English grammer, or is it the term used in another language eg French or Spanish and they are just translating it poorly. Or is it the start of a new word for the oxford dictionary ?

Would I be being rude if I corrected them ?

Possibly a typo. I have learned to go back and read my posts carefully because my fingers often seem to disobey my brain.

I don't think it can be a typo as the "e" is not next to "a" on the keyboard and the second "l" is miles away from "e".

Like you, I always have to go back and edit my posts, as I am a 2 finger typist and go as fast as I can.

Same as a lot of grammer (gramma)

If you are younger than 25 you have a differentway of spelling - I blame it on eaby

My bug bear is allot - to mean a lot.

I wouldn't correct anyone on speling (L) though as I would get pretty uptight if anyone corrected on a public forum. A suggestion, maybe, is acceptable from someone who I know but from anyone else I would consider it arrogrant

It's just a grammatical mistake that some people make. If you're going to start picking them all up, you're electing yourself to a full-time job. It's rarely appropriate to comment, depends on your relationship with the person who makes the mistake. That's my view, anyway. As long as you understand the point they're making, that's all that matters here, surely?
