We are a Husband-Wife partnership, we buy items to resale and in the eyes of HMRC (Tax department) that makes us a BUSINESS! (We also sell our own no longer required items)
And as a business we trade according to UK law/ distance selling regulations. We earn a small part time income not megga millions

OP. You state: "As a private individual I do always describe my items as acurately as I can and on that basis I don't accept returns."

As a business seller we can not make such a statement.

..I am an individual 'clearing out' but I do accept returns - if 'faulty' I would refund in full... if 'changed mind' I would refund cost of item on return but not P&P in that case... I would not buy from anyone making a NO RETURNS statement....

The biggest visibility problem is masses of duplicate listings, which isn't allowed here.

I would off course accept returns if the item is faulty, I shall amend my statement. I was trying to avoid the buyers who just change their mind or if was not 'quite' what they wanted, which has happened to me in the past. I appreciate everyone's comments and shall check out the smaller sites as suggested. This is my first foray into eBid and I meant no disrespect to it and it's users, it was just a thought from me, I do appreciate that people have a living to earn.

I think a lot depends on WHAT you are selling and HOW you are selling.............I'm an individual and clearing out..........but my items are mostly things that bigger sellers wouldn't have....so they are easily spotted. If you list things to runn for 5 -7 days, they are near the top of the viewable listings, as opposed to those items who are set to 'run until sold.' This is great for smaller or more specialized sellers, as your items aren't buried under pages and pages of cell phones, or whatever is sold in big quanitities. Good luck!!
