Ok daughter being bullied at work by management, we are going to write a letter of complaint to head office.
Back in September this year daughter was thrown off her motorbike by a careless elderly woman driver. Police say it was no ones fault, she was not seriously hurt, but has damaged the tendons & muscles in her left had & now wearing a brace, she was off work for 8 weeks and doc says she is ok to return to work, has to wear a wrist/hand brace till the muscles repair. But since being back at work they expect her to push a large dodgy trolley full of goods to stack on shelves, she did this once on her return to work and it hurt her hand, so when they asked her next to do this again she explained she couldnt and why. She is being bullied by management how, theyre claiming her injuries are not as bad as she makes out, one manager will give her a job to do & she will do it then another will come along & ask her what she is doing when she explains they claim she is answering back & has attitude, and tell her to do something else, then she gets told off by the previous person for not doing the previous task requested. Now theyre raising their voice at her and giving her a hell of a time, 2 of them were supposed to assist with the tills (cashing in) but the other one disappeared leaving my daughter to do tills & sweep up etc etc. Then supervisor comes along complains to my daughter about tasks not being done, when she explains that the other staff member keeps disappearing they tell her to stop giving attitude. Then it comes to her time to go home, now any extra time spent at work she does not get paid for, so I waited outside in the car after advising her not to do the extra time. There were 3 large pallets of delivery to be put on shelves along with one of the industrial trollies that were in the aisle at front of shop, (night shift) and she was expected to clear the area (sweeping etc) now the space between either side of the area was around 15" and this had her walking slightly side ways & now & then ending up banging her hand on said pallets that were filled up to over 5 ft high. I advised daughter to take photos of said area, so we can use it as evidence against the store about health & safety issues. One supervisor came along complained that the till area was not cleaned properly when daughter tried to explain the other girl had disappeared & not helped, he had a dig at my daughter, then he told her to move the baskets areound the other side of the shop, she explained she couldnt lift heavy items and his attitude to her was "Its part of the job do it" Now obviously she did not do it, as I was now outside waiting for her & she had done her shift.
This has been going on now before the accident & daughter had started to stand up to these bullies but after 8 weeks being off she came back & new bullies were in place.
Anyone know any good unions for "Shop assistants" She is fed up with this "Management & Supervisor" lark where neither knows what the other is doing. It seems staff are allowed to smoke outside the shop on work time and others are allowed to eat on shop time, but my daughter does not smoke so she is doing the full shift where others are not, and if she is caught having a second to herself they pound on her, she doesnt eat during her shift either, but if anyone higher than her position complains then she explains what has occurred and they claim she is "answering back & has attitude".
So come on Trade Unions required, prefer ones that people have used & trusted before.
Thanks
