Got no hydrogen peroxide, but we had a dance in the garden making him stay still whilst I stood over him shoving salt water down his throat, would have made a good video. Apparently he will be fine as there is hardly any black chocolate in quality street. But he has just started to puke up. He has a very FAT tummy now, & is feeling sorry for himself, his face says it all really. But knowing him given the same opportunity he would do it again ( rolls eyes )

    ??????

I think I would rather let my dog risk the chocolate than pour bleach down its throat.

i wouldnt be using bleach but a 3% hydrogen peroxcide mixed with water. Vets advice from more than one source and my vet confirmed so i guess they know what they are doing! xoxo
    hope the doggy feels better

Hydrogen Peroxide is a bleach - and your earlier post indicated a 50% mix (half and half) - not 3%.

yes but i did not say to use bleach. three percent hydrogen peroxide is sold under its own name and that is already at a three percent strength as compaired to straight bleach.

I can vouch for using hydrogen peroxide to make dogs vomit. Had to do it once for my big Labrador Retriever. I can't remember what he ate but it was something bad. I don't think you can buy hydrogen peroxide stronger than 3% in most stores. I think a stronger solution is used for bleaching human hair; haven't had occasion to shop for that.

As I recall, we gave the dog a very small amount of peroxide, maybe a tablespoon or less, and he DID barf within a few minutes.

Oddly enough, when my daughter was 3 or 4, she ate a couple bad things and I gave her ipecac to induce vomiting. She claimed she liked the taste of it. I have no idea if that would work for dogs, and haven't looked it up as i assume Hatchet is OK by now. Certainly hope so!
